Though we all enjoy meeting our friends over a few drinks and hearty meals, sometimes all we need is a cup of coffee and a book by our favourite author to make our day. If you’re searching for a comfortable and fuss free place to unwind with a good book and coffee as you nibble onto something delicious, then this might just be the right place for you.

Tucked away in the chaotic lanes of shahpur jat, Cafe Red is a quiet cafe that’s away from the hustle bustle of the crowd, making this the perfect place for the bookworm in you. Fret not, you can come here with your friends and give a shot to the board games.

RED stands for Read, Eat and Drink. Something that you can do when here. Though they don’t have a very big collection of books, it is advisable to take you own book along. This reasonably spacious cafe has an indoor and an outdoor seating, making it the perfect place for a winter afternoon. As the name itself would suggest, the predominant color of the cafe is red along with the earthy tones of wood. The graffiti on the walls adds on a bit of quirk element to this rather easygoing cafe.

The menu is a rather extensive one and offers a variety of dishes to binge on. From burgers and wraps to salads and pastas. There is something for everyone. Not only this, they also have a fair number of drinks to choose from, be it coffee, shakes or the humble tea.

Among all the dishes, there are certain dishes that clearly stand out. If you’re a health freak, then the lavash bruschetta can be a good option to nibble onto, and if you’re looking for something more fulfilling, then the grilled chicken steak salad or raw papaya shrimp salad(the vegetarian alternative of raw papaya salad is equally good) could be a winner. Whereas if you’re not calorie conscious, then the potato croquets with mustard dressing is the appetiser that you should order. Golden fried and crisp potato along with a mustard dip will go well with a hot cup of tea. And if you have an adventurous palate, then the unusual lemon irani chicken is the dish for you. Though the minestrone can be skipped, the green lemon soup would do wonders in chilling winters.

Overall, the cozy cafe red with an easygoing atmosphere is a place where reading and dining go hand in hand.
