You get back home all tired or forgot to take your lunch box, cooking isn’t your forte or you stay alone. With new food delivery options springing up, be rest assured that all your cravings and hunger pangs will be taken care of.
Since calling and placing orders has become too mainstream, it’s the age of swiping a few times on your phone with a swift app to fly those hunger pangs away.
One such place, that has recently started delivering food prepared with locally sourced ingredients is Twigly. Delivering currently in Gurgaon, Twigly offers a limited menu that changes everyday. With over 80 dishes in total, you can expect around 25 dishes in the menu on any given day. Hence, you have an option to choose something different everyday.
Delivering your grub in neat and fuss-free packaging in around 45 minutes, Twigly offers an interesting mix of sandwiches, rice-curry combos, shakes and desserts.
The teriyaki grilled chicken was devoured on sight and consisted of perfectly grilled morsels of chicken rendering a delectable smokey flavour. The hummus dip along with the pickled vegetables and pita was the only thing that didn’t please my palate. The flavour of the chickpeas wasn’t coming across well and the quantity wasn’t sufficient. But then alfredo farfalle pasta came to rescue. Cheesy, tossed with crunchy vegetables and served along with separate packets of herbs, the pasta turned out to be rather good with a big slice of garlic bread that came with it.
Known for their sandwiches, I got to try their peri peri chicken sandwich and pea patty and hummus sandwich. While the pea patty and hummus sandwich could have easily been the highlight of my meal, my first bite of peri peri chicken sandwich made it the star-dish of the day. Stuffed with ample amount of tender chicken in multigrain bread, this sandwich at Rs. 180 is a steal deal and is good enough to feed a hungry soul.
Confession: Overall, the meal from Twigly turned out to be nice. Though the hummus didn’t live upto my expectations, all the other dishes sailed through successfully to the safe shore. Neat packaging, fresh food, on-time delivery and pricing that wouldn’t burn a hole in the pocket, twigly has certainly found a spot in my list of places to order food from. Will look forward to their shakes and desserts the next time I order!
