A perfectly risen and buttery croissant, aroma of freshly baked bread, tartness of the lemon curd or creaminess of an eclair, if this has got you drooling already, then this post is for you.

L’opera, a place well known for quality and excellence for its authentic French breads and pastries, is setting benchmarks for other bakeries to look up to, with its much talked about croissants, breads and desserts.

The success of this bakery can be easily testified with the total number of outlets that it has opened within a few years of operation. L’opera boasts of 13 outlets in Delhi and Gurgaon, and one is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas, in Dehradun, as well.

The breads are baked daily and have no preservatives, and hence, be assured of good quality French breads, the range of which goes beyond the quintessential baguette.

While I may not be a very big fan of their savoury petits-fours, the buttery and flaky viennese pastries are the undisputed winners at L’opera. Offering the best croissants in town, the much talked about almond croissant is certainly worth the hype and should be tried by everyone at least once. But that does not imply that the traditional or chocolate croissant are any less.

Offering a melange of cakes and pastries, L’opera has something to cater to every palate. With the most famous French dessert, mille feuille, made with puff pastry, pastry cream and caramel, the perfectly baked eclair filled with coffee cream and the citrusy lemon tart topped with meringue, L’opera has successfully replicated the authentic French dessert experience. While I may easily skip the dense eggless chocolate brownie, the truffon is the one that I’d have every time I visit L’opera. A balance of texture and flavours, the pastry consists of bitter chocolate ganache with layers of crunchy hazelnut and milk chocolate cream.

L'opera

Confession: From breads and croissants to pasties and chocolate bars, L’opera is bringing its patrons the best from the bakery world, that is sure to please every palate. The pricing might be a bit on the higher side, but the product speaks volumes and it worth every rupee spent.
