Now that Navratras are over, it’s time to indulge into some succulent kebabs, spicy curries and aromatic biryani. But what if you’re not very keen on stepping out of your place? That’s when Currywala and Co will come to rescue.
A delivery only outlet operating from Hauz Khas Village, Currywala and Co is here to bring to your doorstep, some praiseworthy North Indian and Mughlai dishes, at a price that wouldn’t burn a hole in your pocket.
Their menu moves across some vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebabs, goes on to the quintessential gravies, dals and biryanis, and ends at some delectable Indian desserts.
Spicy morsels of chicken with a beautiful char, that rendered a beautiful smoky flavour to the meat, the chicken tikka went beautifully well with the green chutney and onions. After looking at the tawa masala delicacies in their menu, I decided to go in with their taka tak mutton seekh masala. Slithered with masala that was packed with spices, the mutton seekh masala was devoured with roomali rotis.
I didn’t want to go with the typical butter chicken in mains, and hence, decided to order some spicy chicken curry. Chunks of perfectly cooked chicken doused in an aromatic gravy, this is certainly a must have, while ordering from Currywala. The nalli nihari also needs a mention because of the falling off the meat lamb shanks cooked in a deep crimson gravy.
The highlight of the meal was the chicken dum biryani, that arrived in a traditional handi, along with some spicy mirchi ka salan and some soothing burrani raita. Fluffy and aromatic rice cooked along with nicely marinated chicken, cooked in dum, the biryani was turned out to be the perfect end to our meal, not leaving us with a craving for having some desserts.
Confession: Overall, the food that arrived from Currywala and Co turned out to be great. Needless to say, they know their curries well, and hence, chicken curry is a must have. The order arrived in neatly packaged individual boxes and the pricing is such, that it wouldn’t burn a hole in your pocket.
